Reinstate and Update the Fairness Doctrine
Let's break up this fascist monopoly
we need to reinstate (and update) the Fairness Doctrine
believe it or not, I grew up with news that actually tried for the most unbiased truth instead of political talking heads. The Fairness Doctrine was repealed when I was 7, so it took awhile before its affects were seen.
and quick history lesson on the fairness Doctrine starting with the description from Wikipedia: "The fairness doctrine of the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC), introduced in 1949, was a policy that required the holders of broadcast licenses both to present controversial issues of public importance and to do so in a manner that fairly reflected differing viewpoints."
Enter Rupert Murdoch- one of the driving forces behind getting it repealed yes the exact same Rupert Murdoch that is still currently the owner of Fox News that is currently being sued by damn near everyone for blatantly lying about the election, as well as pretty much everything else. He wanted to shut liberals up, so he essentially bought a monopoly on the news worldwide (this Reichpublican also owns The Sun, The Daily Telegraph, and SO MANY others worldwide).
This was his end game. Flood the media with his propaganda. Keep in mind he's 92. He lived through Goebbels as a child and later copied him. (the Nazi propaganda minister).
He is the driving force behind the politicalization of the news worldwide. He's the driving force behind all of the lies and misinformation. He pushed the envelope over and over until the news became the clusterfuck that it is today.
I'm done with "news" being "newest propaganda". I feel like from here on out, if a journalist or news publication or whatever does not fairly show both sides, they can no longer be called news and be relied upon as much as we do a 4chan quanon blog. If they cannot show verified unbiased information, they are not news, they are propaganda machine. And should be treated as such. They should not have the same protections as legitimate news
